本日のテーマは『娯楽映画に見る再生医療の限界領域』について。 ジョニー・デップ主演映画が公開される。 今回彼が演じるのは普通の科学者、それが敵の凶弾に倒れ余命宣告を受け彼女がせめて意識だけでもcomputerにUpload出来ればと友人と共に作業を開始し終了間際に彼は絶命。 悲しみにくれる彼女だが奇跡的にUploadは成功しcomputerの中で意識体として生き続ける。 生前の彼の知識により再生医療技術は飛躍的に上がり多くの人が彼の手により救われる。 だが彼は遂に禁断領域迄手を伸ばし暴走を開始する。 ドキュメンタリー内では語られなかったが彼の意識をUpload最中彼は絶命。 唯一Uploadされなかったデータは彼の『良心』ではなかったかと思う。 私も再生医療に期待を寄せる者の一人である。 失われた神経や失われた片足が再生医療で甦る事が出来ればどれだけ嬉しいか？解らない。 されどもし今、死者を意識体だけ甦らせる事が出来るとして亡父を甦らせたいかと問われれば私は『No』と答える。 一度死んだ人間は二度と戻らない。 戻らせるべきではない。 勿論凶刃に倒れ無念の死を遂げたご遺族方々の中には意識体としてでも甦って欲しいと方も居られるだろう。 そのお気持ちを反故にはしない。 だが私は亡くなった人を忘れず心に存在させる事も又、『生き続ける』事だと考える。 その場所が心であるか？ computer上であるかの違いだけである。 問いかけが返るのも同じ。 心の中の死者に問いかけてもcomputerに問いかけても求める結果は同じである。 ならばcomputerという無間地獄に魂を閉じ込める行為を私は自己満足のエゴイズムにしか思えない。 魂を天国に返し自由にする事こそが遺族が出来る唯一の事であると私は考える。 勿論これは私の極めて個人的見解でありそれを押し付けるつもりはない。 別の意見もあろうかと思う。 私の意見に絶対的な正しさがあると思ってもいない。 されど人間が神の領域に手を出す事は私の目には正しい事のようには思えない。 人間には人間が出してよい限界領域がある。 その限界領域を人間が越えて手を出す事は自らの破滅を意味する。 この映画はそれを我々に警鐘として示しているように思える。 映画公開が楽しみである。 Today's theme is about "marginal area of regenerative medicine show entertainment'.
